2 Keys to a Wholesome Life
I have been reading a great deal about metabolic syndrome, but actually didn’t understand what it meant. So I did some research.According to PubMed Health, a website devoted to reviews of medical effectiveness research with easy-to-read summaries for consumers, metabolic syndrome is a combination of risk facets including a sizable stomach size, high triglycerides, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. More and more Americans are now being diagnosed with the syndrome, as more and more Americans struggle with weight issues. This really is cause for concern, as complications from these risk facets include Type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, coronary arrest, swing, kidney disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, peripheral artery disease – none of which sound like fun.The good news is that individuals have the power to manage, as well as prevent all of these serious consequences by doing two easy things; 1) If you smoke, leave, and 2) Shed weight. Isn’t that wonderful? As I have said before, it is not easy easy, but it’s easy. In order to slim down, we need to do two things.Key # 1 We need focus on what we eat. Reduce the red meat and eat more fatty fish. Types of fatty fish are: Salmon, Mackerel, Trout, Tuna, Herring, Swordfish, Carp, and Eel. Any good eel recipes were got by anybody? I’ve written before by what is working for me is always to cut way back on my carbs, finding many of them from fruit and greens. But weight is all lost by us differently. The key is discovering what works for you.Key # 2 Based on the site, most days we need to do at least thirty minutes of moderate exercise. If you should be ADD like me, often it is easier to do three 10 minute guides, and that’s okay, it counts. Find a thing that you enjoy doing so it does not feel like torture. I’m therefore lucky that where I live you can find multiple, stunning places to go, and the elements is never too bad. My buddy, Nan, who lives in wonderful Vermont, but where in fact the winters are long and cool, swears by Leslie Sansone and her Walk at Home DV’s. I recently examined the website, and it seems like fun. I think I’ll get one for windy, wet times like today is here.We need to keep track of our cholesterol levels and our blood pressure. When you need to be on medication, go, but slimming down and exercising can help get both of these things under control. Is not that cool?As I’ve been learning more and more about people living with chronic conditions, I’m becoming increasingly aware of how what we consume and how much we move our bodies will be the keys to how we handle those conditions. So a lot of those chronic ailments are in your own power to manage. Recognizing I’ve that strength helps it be much easier for me to eat right and get out there and go for a walk.Tweet
