Everyone knows that the insurance giant AIG had an amazing collapse that few people actually knew that was coming, even in the insurance market but there were several indicators that were there for company officers along with workers but they chose to not listen.According to the House select committee on oversight which did a study on AIG’s downfall the writing was on the wall. Regulators have warned them five weeks in advance that they are was something fishy going on in the business’s books but AIG’s authorities apparently didn’t pay much mind to it. It appears to me that AIG’s executives did the same thing that many Internet stock companies did before the failure the stock market in the season 2000. I do believe that these issues could possibly be resolved as time goes on when our government put more stringent rules and oversight in position to be sure that AIG’s top steel used their area cash properly and perhaps not into very risky ventures like items, energy and values. After all yes, this side of their business was working artistically for an excellent quantity of time but this gravy train was bound to have quick and go out of fuel. When AIG would have concentrated the majority of its energy and time into concentrating on its primary business that has been insurance then it would have never left itself wide open with this collision. This crash made the Enron crash look like each day in the playground. All with this left its core business available for a knockout punch.This all dates back to error and came about because of the greed of its top brass which make all of these risky ventures. The Bush administration relaxed plenty of the regulatory elements on Wall street and several firms took benefit of this. Hopefully president elect will learn from the huge mistake that the bush government made on error over the business and investment practices of these top executives and force these companies to help make the top CEO’s work for its investors instead of just for their very own pocket books. Now while i desired the bailout this time, this time sure better maybe not happen again. Fool me three times, pity on me. It is around us, the American citizens to make sure that such things as this dont occur again by making our voices heard by contacting our congress and through protests.
