We’ve all looked over National Geographic Magazine with utter surprise of the photographic quality found in the pages of that remarkable newspaper. Many of us have thought of producing photographs that rival those unbelievable pictures. But the idea of producing such a great record and the truth of it are two different things. Some of us have gone to great efforts to get good engaging photos of wildlife only to return hungry, aching, tired, and beaten. I am one of the only real place and those individuals I have had any success is in Africa.In this article I’d prefer to discuss with you how I suddenly came out with an unbelievable account of wildlife which was worth every penny. Surprisingly simple but a tad bit costly, I will also reveal how I got over my comfort objections for this method.Taking great pictures of wildlife is a problem the average individual does not have any knowledge of. And to be more particular, my needs for wildlife photography are big predators. I can get near to deer, elk, moose, etc. And I could touch a buffalo and even reach out! But how frequently do I see a, Wolves, or a Mountain Lion? Fleeting glimpses at best and I have never seen a Lion in the wild. I’ve jumped up and down with joy at that mere development of a track but I’ve never seen one.It must be mentioned that I am using a 70-200mm f/2.8 contact so I have to get quite close for that body filling shot.Some time ago I was at a Photoshop workshop managed Lewis Kemper. Lewis is really a world renowned nature photographer who has made it into National Geographic. And he was using some wonderful photos of Mountain Lions. After the workshop, I cornered Lewis and asked him how lewis got the pictures. He admitted they were captive animals. His answer didn’t surprise me on the niche as I’d done a lot of research and everything was decreasing to that.I must know that I had a certain disdain for shooting captive animals in wild options and then driving the animals off as real. I also had a lot of concerns about the circumstances the animals are now living in. But I decided to set my apprehensions aside and find a that presented such services.Simply by typing “Game Farm” into an internet search engine gave me many choices. I chose the Triple N Game Farm in Kalispell, MT because of the range of species to select from and their knowledge of my concerns. I’ve often wondered how we can say what feelings an animal is feeling but I must say these animals were happy. Furthermore, they’ve many endangered species which are part of an international captive breeding program. There is a much more than just eating and establishing for the following photographer going on at Game Farms.I went during a scheduled photography program and I was firing with six different photographers. Private sessions are also appointed by them but those are considerably more expensive. The times weren’t too early or late and the size of the group made for comfortable firing. The handlers were very professional and accommodating to each photographer’s needs and the animals were only hams in-front of the camera.So if you are looking to just take that stunning shot of a pinnacle predator but don’t have the resources to get it done the old fashion way. Consider a Game Park. I did and I couldn’t be happier.
