The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has estimated that headphones were going to be one of the most popular product categories in 2012. While recently I wrote CE Pro’s annual Top 100 Brand Analysis to find out what brands the 100 highest-grossing custom installation firms are using. Beats Headphones One of the most surprising things I discovered in this story was that many installers are selling headphones. Through the years Shure has also supported the consumer headphone market, which includes times when headphones weren’t the trendy product category. Recently to help support its line of consumer products the company introduced its SRH1440 and SRH1840 open-back headphones.

The Apple-friendly inline mic and controller with rubber buttons let you adjust volume and play/pause/skip tracks, as well as answer calls or use it. of course the sound is well balanced with just a hint of extra bass so you get a solid pulse to move your muscles to. The headband is flexible but, unlike headphones that use a solid plastic construction, doesn’t feel like it’s going to snap every time you put them on.

Beats Dr DreThe headphones fold up neatly with a sturdy hinge on each arm and the magnetic ear pads snap into place with a reassuring click and, being a breathable fabric rather than leather, stop your ears from getting too warm. While not quite offering the comfort of its functional bigger brother, we found that the ones to be lighter and more practical solution for those who travel a lot and want a pair of quality headphones that aren’t too cumbersome and can be folded into a small case.  As for complaints, the ones can become uncomfortable after several hours of use and some users may find the headband quite hard, but this is a small niggle rather than a major problem. Finally, the cable is very thin, becomes knotted easily and probably wouldn’t take too much effort to break. so what you are waiting for now?
