Interior decoration according to Vastu
Vastu is the science of architecture. Vastuveda specifies the rules for architecture of temples, homes, cars, vessels, furniture etc. It has a certain list of guiding principles that work according to directions. Vastu is the study of how the laws of nature affect human dwellings.
Let us take a look at some concepts that allow for a happy atmosphere at house by placing the interior of your house as per Vastu.
Colors: – The colors of the walls greatly affect the psychology of the housemates. They have the power to uplift or blow down the feeling of people in the house. Also, at the front door using shades like white, green, blue, cr?me, etc is an excellent option. Using dark tones like reds, grey and black at the front door. Applying lighter shades present an airy look and add to the activeness while darker ones are calm and apt for the bedroom.
Beds: – Going to sleep with your head in the south direction gets you a sound sleep. The beds should be placed in the southwest of the room. Prevent sticking the bed to any corner. Bed rooms must be in the west, south or southwest part of the house.
Home furniture in the living room/drawing room: – Sofa should be kept at the south or west of the room. The chair for the owner or an older person should be placed in order to make the person sitting on it face towards the same directions. Home furniture should be square or rectangular in shape. The drawing should be in the northern part of the house.
Dining table: – Maintain the dining room to the left of the kitchen. The dining table should be away from the wall and in square or rectangular shape. Place the table in the northwest of the kitchen, with the owner’s chair face towards the north and the guests towards the south direction.
Cupboards/storage: – Almirahs should be placed in the south or south west direction, opening towards the north. Nothing should be stored in the bed boxes simply because it may cause sleeping problems and affect the magnetic environment of the individual. Shoes should never be there in the bedroom. Shoe racks must be kept in the south west part of the balcony or main hall. The store room should be in the south of the house.
Study: – Study space should be in the north, west, northwest, east, and northeast with the study table in the south of the room. The person should face towards north while studying.
Bathroom: – Bathroom should never be in the centre of the house. They must be built in the northeast portion.
