Kids Right now
Today’s college students are more narcissistic and self-centered than their
predecessors and that the trend could be damaging to private relationships and American society.
This story has been spreading like wild fire. Kids are on Myspace. Kids use
YouTube. The Time Man of the Year is ‘You’ (the person).
If we do not like our teachers, we can website. If we don’t like our jobs,
we can website. If we don’t like our lives, the folks about us, the globe
about us, we can weblog.
We supposedly have coddled these youngsters. We told them they are special.
We have created them narcissistic. And now we are to think that all of
this is going to break down their potential to be social? To live and work
with each other? Tear the quite fabric of social order?
It is a phase, people. The children are fine. It is just yet another generational
issue. Let me remind you what a few past generations lived via, what
they had been labeled and how they drove ‘the adults’ a tiny crazy.
Peace, Enjoy, Dope (Hippies..totally free enjoy)
Ban the Bomb (Anti-nuclear proliferation)
Hell No! We will not go! (Anti-war activists)
Turn on, Tune in, Drop out (Anti-society’s rules)
Do not trust any person over 30 (Anti-parents and the establishment)
Keep on Truckin’ (Stay in tune, but mellow)
I’m OK, You’re OK (Self-assist is OK)
Followed by…
The ME generation
Greed is very good/Assume Wealthy

sources.
This generation is sharing music rather of acquiring music.
This generation is watching much less network Tv.
This generation is playing video games more and interested in participating in sports less.

We have put these kids by means of our own divorces, sex right after Aids, the
acceptance of specific interest groups. We tell them the national debt is
yours, war on terror will final past your generation and that when you retire
there will be no social safety or gold at the finish of the rainbow. And that
is why they have tuned us out. Just like the kid who is planted in front of
his video game and known as to dinner, we have to face the fact, we have been
told “Whatever!” by the generation we created.
