<p>Now, the mould is allowed to cool forming into its desired design or shape. This cooling process is the longest stage. Basically, it consumes about 85 percent of the entire cycles time.</p>
<p>After solidification, the mold undergoes the process of demoulding or unloading. Here, the molds clamp is opened to allow the molds ejection. Then the cycle is repeated.</p>
<p>Design Considerations</p>
<p>When considering injection moulding designs, each design needs to obtain angled surfaces. The purpose of this is to allow easy removal of the part from the mold. Typically, the angles should measure about one to two degrees for surface designs with a minimum of five inches on its wall thickness. Like for instance in soda bottles, thin and thick wall are both economical and possible. However to other designs, make sure youve got uniform wall thickness on your designs corner and ribs, you will be able to save a lot from your manufacturing efforts and costs.</p>
<p>Tooling</p>
<p>Injection moulding tooling is no longer a problem today. <p>If you are working on short mouldings and you are not able to get adequate shot capacity, the following tips can help. Consider increasing feed settings so as to get the desired effect. Try to also confirm that the rate of plasticizing is as recommended by manufacturers. Failure to make such changes can lead to inconsistent work.</p>
<p>You can also consider transferring the material to a larger capacity machine. This is a good solution if you are working on shot mouldings but you are unable to get adequate shot capacity.</p>

<p>Plastic mouldings can be used in projects that involve delamination. If you are not getting good results, consider running the following checks. Find out if there is any kind of contamination if the material seems incompatible with the surface. The material could also be contaminated if the skin of the plastic moulding freezes off prematurely.</p>
<p>If it is not contaminated, consider purging the machine with some of the material. Rinse it once before filling it with the plastic mouldings. In the event it freezes off prematurely, you can raise the temperature. It is easier to work with it in this way. Other considerations include lowering injection speeds or making adjustments as you see fit.</p>
<p>Sometimes, you can use plastic mouldings in other projects such as flashing. In this case, try to reface or realign the surface before injecting the material. Also check that the surface of the mold is flat. Take a look at all the tools you need for the project and make sure that they are in good condition.</p>
<p>In the event that you get problems during plastic injection moulding, you can increase the time taken to cool the material. If there is too much pressure in the cavity, simply reduce the injection pressure to correct the problem.</p>

Heat Treatment of Plastics<br />
The most cost effective way to produce materials such as Acrylic or PEEK is to use either a casting or extrusion process. Although cost effective, cast acrylic or extruded PEEK materials can be highly stressed and have a surface skin which can pull and distort components during and after the manufacturing processes.<br />
To ensure stable dimensions and a long life for precision machined component parts, it is essential that materials are correctly heat treated to remove internal stress. Carville will not manufacture plastic component parts without fully heat treating the base material at the pre-production stage.<br />
On plastic materials such as acrylic (PMMA), the initial heat treatment, or normalization processes, can result in material shrinkage of between 2% and 4%.<br />
All plastic materials used by Carville are normalised using controlled heat treatment processes before any machining operations take place.<br />
During the production process, all components are stage annealed to remove any stresses that may have been induced due to the machining operations.<br />
Subject to the component size and the volume of material removed, the heat treatment processes may be performed several times during manufacturing operations. These heat treatment processes can add 3 to 5 days to the manufacturing process.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Carville offer CNC plastic machining services and specialise in the heat treatment and precision machining of acrylic and other engineering grade plastics. Acrylic material is also referred to as Perspex, Plexiglas or Polycast.<br />
The Carville manufacturing business was founded in 1928 and Carville started to produce both machined and fabricated acrylic parts and assemblies in the 1930s. Carvilles earlier manufacturing services were focused on the automotive and aerospace industries.<br />
Carville are a UK based manufacturing company and have over 80 years experience in the precision machining of acrylic and other plastics. Carville produce all of our machined plastic parts at our manufacturing facility in Dorking, Surrey.<br />
Carvilles business focus is to provide our customers with a high level of service and to produce custom plastic parts that will perform well in the end applications. These services can include project management, product development, prototyping and full production volume manufacturing.<br />
Carville have been offering contract manufacturing services for over 80 years and we supply to customers throughout Europe, Asia and the USA. Carville operate scheduled delivery agreements with a number of our larger customers. These schedule agreements allow Carville to produce plastic parts and plastic components in advance and to ship these to our end customers production facilities from our finished stock.<br />
Carville are a business to business service provider. The philosophy at Carville is to produce precision machined plastic parts and plastic components that are correct to the customers specifications, are delivered on time and are competitively priced.<br />
Heat Treatment of Plastics<br />
The most cost effective way to produce materials such as Acrylic or PEEK is to use either a casting or extrusion process. Although cost effective, cast acrylic or extruded PEEK materials can be highly stressed and have a surface skin which can pull and distort components during and after the manufacturing processes.<br />
To ensure stable dimensions and a long life for precision machined component parts, it is essential that materials are correctly heat treated to remove internal stress. Carville will not manufacture plastic component parts without fully heat treating the base material at the pre-production stage.<br />
On plastic materials such as acrylic (PMMA), the initial heat treatment, or normalization processes, can result in material shrinkage of between 2% and 4%.<br />
All plastic materials used by Carville are normalised using controlled heat treatment processes before any machining operations take place.<br />
During the production process, all components are stage annealed to remove any stresses that may have been induced due to the machining operations.<br />
Subject to the component size and the volume of material removed, the heat treatment processes may be performed several times during manufacturing operations. These heat treatment processes can add 3 to 5 days to the manufacturing process.</p>
