So wait.what is the difference between a regular novel and a cell phone novel?
Ah, the question that anyone first being introduced to the cell phone novel genre culture might ask. It’s simple really: cell phone novels sprung from the Japanese keitai tradition which means they are short, to the point, poetic, crisp, beautiful, and most of all, are considered to be an ALTERNATIVE STYLE OF WRITING. Regular novels are sometimes 1000′s of pages in length and have book bindings and so on. Ebooks are just a digital version of physical books. But cell phone novels are meant to be read fast or subscribed to like a serial version of a story. It’s great for readers who want something fun to read to start their day or maybe something to hold onto that feels deeply personal, as many text novels often come across as. Oh, and if you are a writer of these kinds of books or perhaps you want to try writing in this powerfully concise form, there’s even a spot where you can do that on eMobo. Just click the icon for authors, fill out your chapter, and update. It’s that simple. Your book will be made available for others to download and even come up as a suggestion for others to check out if they like your style of writing. Pretty neat huh?

4. There are rewards just for using it: The makers of this app also included a reward feature. Anytime a user finishes so many books, writes their own stories, or shares what they are reading on facebook or other social media outlets, there is a chance for earning anything from free drinks at Starbucks to Amazon gift cards and even an Xbox 360! This is because eMobo is partners with Kiip, a mobile rewards network. Instead of relying on ads, as most other apps seem to do for income, the makers of this app have made using it even more enjoyable by rewarding users for doing exactly what the app wants you to do: read books and share stories with others.

I think it’s safe to say that the world is moving super fast. I mean, almost beyond the speed of light at times, or so it would seem. When you think about reading books, we’ve seen it go from writing on stone to writing on paper to most recently, writing digitally in the form of ebooks. Writing stories and reading them on your phone is the next step in the evolution of writing, and it seems eMobo is the first milestone in this evolutionary progression.
