Universities with limited funds are hampered to do in-depth scientific research for lack of laboratory equipment. Donations of used equipments, in good condition save these schools. But schools are not the only ones in need of used equipment. Private clinics and government institutions on a budget can benefit from used lab equipment too.

Starting a research lab on a budget does not sit well with eager medical practitioners who want to start their own labs or are expanding their laboratory. This is a pity because used laboratory equipment can be purchased at half the cost of brand new equipment. A brand new bench top sterilizer/autoclave for example can cost as much as $20,000 and even more but you can get a good used sterilizer for $15,000. Thats a big slice off the brand new price.

A gynecologist, internist, or obstetrician would require an ultrasound machine or analyzer for diagnostic tests but the cost of brand new machines are prohibitive. Used or refurbished lab equipment cost 75% less than brand new equipment!

A used ultrasound machine and analyzer can pay for themselves and you save on costs for diagnostic testing because you do not have to outsource the work. Patients appreciate a one-stop consultation because going to diagnostic labs for routine tests and back to the doctors office can be tedious.

Other used or previously owned laboratory equipments such as microscopes, analyzers, homogenizers, dispensers, washers, lab thermometers, mixers, and lab refrigerators are available and dealer have more items on stock. Even if you are shopping around for used lab equipments, quality and customer safety should always be the criteria for your selections.

Reconditioned lab machines give peak performance and are outfitted with high profile electronic tools and they look as good as new at a fraction of the cost, making these viable investments for health care institutions and health institutions that require lab equipment for their daily lab applications. There 2002 models of different apparatuses that still give the same performance level when these were bought brand new.

Used lab furniture is available when school labs or research institutions redo their laboratories. Work benches, computer lab furniture, stools, and shelving compartments that have been refurbished or need refurbishing are sold in several specialty and medical supply shops and internet auction sites. Some of these still include warranties as product back-ups.

Shop around and compare brands and prices of second hand lab equipments. You can purchase used laboratory equipments from reliable and established dealers. Before making a purchase, have an inventory of your lab needs and list the equipments that you need for your everyday lab work. Since this is an important investment, check the working condition of the equipments and review the warranty options.

Online vendors provide listings of their stocks but most often they do not include the price list. You can call them or visit their offices and offer a quote or ask for the availability of other used laboratory equipment.

In China, there had been the most simple crushing tool–ball and socket in 2000 BC. From the 200 BC to 100 BC,the crushing machinery–ball and socket further evolved into the foot pestle. These tools using the leverage were the initial prototype of the crushing machine, but their action was still intermittent crushing.

The earliest crushing machine with continuous crushing action was invented by the Lu Ban living in the late Spring and Autumn Period. The other with continuous grinding action was the roller grinding machinery, it appeared later. 200 AD later, Du Yu and other Chinese had developed the water-mill based on the foot pestle, and the water was the driving force, which improved production efficiency to a new level. These machines were used for grain processing, but also extended to other materials on the crushing operations.

Modern crusher had been created after the gradual improvement of steam engine and electric motors. In 1806 there appeared steam engine-driven roller crusher. In 1858, Blake, in the United States, invented the jaw crusher. Rotary crusher was developed in 1878, the production efficiency was higher than the jaw crusher with intermittent crushing action. In 1895, American William invented impact crusher which was lower energy consumption.

Meanwhile, the grinding machinery also had a corresponding development. In the early 19th century, ball mill had been widely used. Rod mill with uniform size of the discharge was invented based on the development of ball mill in 1870. In the 1930s, Americans and Germans had developed a roller bowl mill, roller mill and other vertical shaft mill.

With the development of technology, so far crushing machinery development has made considerable progress. Especially after the 1990s, crusher production and sales increased rapidly, while the number of enterprises continued to increase. These enterprises could produce 30 ton vibrating crusher, 24 ton static roller crusher and 30 ton tire crusher and other range of varieties of products. They had self-development and production of complete crusher manufacturing system, and the gap with international advanced level was gradually narrowing. Therefor, crushing machinery industry was entering a new period of development.

In the twenty-first century, there are a group of outstanding enterprises in the crushing machinery industry. In these companies, you can see the latest development of crushing machinery. A lot of experts who are dedicated to advanced research and development of crushing equipment have developed crusher with international technical standards. Some high-quality products are as follows: jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, mobile crushing plant, high pressure suspension grinder, sand making machine, and the production line with the feeder, vibrating screen and a full set of aggregate conveyors.

When you think about the word media, you likely think of the local news company, a magazine or some other form of reporter. You may even think about famous stars blaming the media” for somehow causing them problems.

However, when the word media is combined with grinding to come up with the term, “grinding media”, it is not a reporter or a news channel that is being discussed. In actuality, it is the material that is used inside of a type of ball. One of the most basic and easy to understand examples of this would be the common spray paint can.

It is inserted into a this type of ball. Then, the material that needs to be grinded into a fine powder is put into the ball and the grinding ball is then rotated over and over. The grinding media inside of that grinding ball is falling and squishing the material as the grinding ball rotates so that the material to be grinded is grinded into a powder.

The term, “grinding media” refers to the items that are used to do the grinding inside of the grinding ball. There are different types of grinding media because of the different types of materials to be grinded. For example, a stainless steel ball that you would find in a paint can, cannot be used in in grinding some materials because of their sensitivity to steel.

This type of machine and media is illustrated on a much simpler level when you think about the rock tumbler. They both function on the concept of rotation causing a rise and fall over and over again.

Crushed aggregate is a combination of stone, gravel, sand, and slag, used in the construction of homes, infrastructure, businesses, and roads. Crushed aggregate is made from natural raw materials and making it involves the use of several heavy machines. Once the process is finished, the result is crushed aggregate, a material the construction industry cant do without.

The Jaw Crusher

Large rocks are mined from gravel pits or quarries and transported to the surface, where they are usually placed in dump trucks. Once on top, the rocks are sifted for smaller pieces and debris with the aid of a powerful vibrating conveyor belt. The conveyor belt transports the materials to the jaw crusher, which is really the first step in aggregate crushing. The jaw crusher is made of two plates, rather like a human mouth. It crushes the rock between the two plates and then “swallows” it, pouring it out onto another conveyor belt, which takes it to an impact crusher.

The Impact Crusher

An impact crusher flings the rocks against hard plates, causing them to split and break into much smaller pieces. Theyre then put on a vibrating screen, which acts as a large filter through which the crushed aggregate is sorted by size. The finer the aggregate needed, the more it gets filtered; this allows quarries to sell different types of crushed aggregate to customers, based on the project at hand.

Dump Trucks

Crushed aggregate is then transported to the work site by dump trucks. Most crushed aggregate is produced within forty miles of where its used, though longer distances are not unheard of, and about ninety percent of it is transported by dump trucks.

Other Machines

Of course, there are many other machines involved in aggregate crushing. The hydraulic cone crusher is good for crushing rocks into medium, fine, or super-fine grade aggregate, and can be adjusted according to what the customer needs. A spring cone crusher is used for rocks of medium-to-hard hardness levels, and has a variable-sized crushing chamber. A sand-maker crushes rock, including metal ores, into extremely fine aggregates, while a drying hammer crusher is a floor-to-ceiling machine that specializes in soft or moist raw materials. Finally, a ring hammer crusher specializes in both moist and dry aggregates, and pounds them down to size with a series of hammers.

Aggregate crushing is a long, laborious process, involving a number of stages and several pieces of heavy machinery. Regardless, crushed aggregate is a necessary component of almost any construction project.
