There are many things that cause a computer to be slow ranging from software to hardware. It can be too small a hard drive or insufficient RAM. It can be anything from BIOS and/or Operating System Settings to programs that are hogging up your CPU and RAM (no matter how much you have). Or it might be your network.

Personally, I work my computer like a young mother with a house full of kids 12 to 18 hours a day.

That mother needs to unwind at the end of the day.

For those of you, like me, who can’t seem to let go of their Windows XP, here are 9 Tips in the order they should be finished in that will help to keep your computer happy and working without complaining:

1. This is so simple I shouldn’t have to say it, Keep What Ever E-Mail Program You Use Cleaned Out. I have clients who are always complaining, but they absolutely refuse to get rid of years and years of accumulated e-mail.

2. Make sure you have a good anti virus program (Only one on each computer please), have it up to date, and auto monitoring.

3. Be sure you have a good anti spy ware program (Only one per computer), make sure it is up to date, and auto monitoring.

4. Run a Disk Clean Up Daily (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Clean Up – a box opens – make sure each box is checked, click ‘OK’ – a box pops up – Click Yes).

5. Delete Cookies and Cached Files Daily (Start, Control Panel -if you haven’t done that yet, click ‘Switch To Classic View’, Internet Options – a pop up box will appear – Delete Cookies, Click OK, Click Delete Files – check ‘Delete All Offline Content’ – Click OK, Now Set Your Clear History to no more than 7 Days – if you have never used it for a week you probably will not miss it – Click OK)

6. A very important step almost everyone forgets: Empty The Prefetch Folder (Start, My Computer, ‘C’ , Windows, Prefetch Folder, Edit, Select All, File, Delete – pop up box appears – Click Yes, Close Windows Window)

7. Empty Recycle Bin. For the sake of brevity, I am akingthe assumption that everyone knows where it is and knows how to empty it.

8. Scan Hard Drive ‘C’ (Start, My Computer, Right Click ‘C’ – box opens – Click Properties at the bottom – another box opens – Click Tools, Click Check Now, Make sure both ‘Automatically fix file system errors’ and ‘Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors’ are checked, Click Start. Get a cup of java (oh, black, thank you) and Wait ! You definitely want to have a good registry cleaner to scan the system and fix any problems.

9. Defrag Computer (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter – window opens – Select ‘C’ Drive, Click Defragment). Pop a top and Wait !

The last two steps (8 and 9) can take awhile if they have not been done recently. I finish this whole routine on my computer just before I stop work for the day everyday.

Firstly, stop writing new data to your PC in case the deleted files were overwritten. Click Recycle bin to check whether the deleted files were there. If so, find out your deleted file and click “Restore this item” on the menu bar. The file will be restored to its previous location.

There are also convenient under-the-desk paper collection bins available which make secure document collection and storage accessible for everyone. These secure paper collecting bins are especially useful during tax season as their smaller capacity lends itself to individual paper collection during peak times.

Delete your recycle bin. When you delete anything off your computer it will go directly to your recycle bin on your desktop. Empty the recycle bin by selecting “Empty” and this will also help in speeding up your system.

Typically folks have the recycle bin set up to empty upon shutdown, however this isn’t a wise idea. If a deleted item leaves the recycle bin, it’s placed into an space on your usable exhausting drive space, and may be written over once you save something else to your computer. Your data shall be utterly misplaced if that happens.

Restore deleted files and recover deleted Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, email messages, ZIP and RAR archives, digital pictures and all other types of files with Undelete Wizard! Empty recycling bins or no Recycle Bin are not an issue for Undelete Wizard to recover deleted files. The deleted file recovery wizard thoroughly investigates the file system in order to locate the recently deleted files, and scans the entire surface of a disk that contains the deleted files. The unique pattern-matching technology identifies the beginning and end of documents, images and archives by performing the same type of signature analysis as implemented in anti-virus products.

You can find recycling bins in a variety of sizes and colors. They will range from the smaller ones good for the home or the workspace at the office to the large ones needed for large businesses and for the use in public places. This helps with encouraging people, whether at home or at work, to sort their trash every time they throw it away.

Larger dimensions implies the basket can accommodate more waste compound. Normally, the small sized garbage cans are encouraged simply for your bathrooms along with the larger ones are with the kitchens. Because rest room styled bins are tiny, they may be typically emptied into more substantial style cans if the bins transformed complete. At the same time once the bigger cans are full, they’re completed outside.

DiskGetor Data Recovery Free is free hard drive recovery tool, use the free disk recovery software can free recover deleted ( word, excel, ppt, video, zip, photo ) files which were erased in Recycle Bin or deleted by shift+del on hard drive , free rescue data (fast speed).
