As a therapist, I believe that although each one of us faces unique challenges, everyone can benefit from self-work in therapeutic settings. I see life as a journey that we are all on. We do have to walk the path ourselves, but it can sometimes be helpful to have a guide or road marker to help us find our way.

I never truly feel at home unless I’m behind the wheel with the radio blasting, driving down some lonesome freeway in the middle of nowhere with good friends in tow. The Red Brick Tavern is one of 30 sites in the first phase of the Ohio National Road Association’s interpretive sign project. So far, the association has unveiled signs at 11 of those sites, the nearest being the old Buena Vista Tavern west of South Vienna in Clark County. Built in 1836, the brick tavern is now a private residence with an adjoining rear addition that houses Johnson’s Lamp Shop.

A then drove down all the way until a Petrol Kiosk near Pekan. From there, we thought why not visit the Air Papan place. The last time we were there about 4 years back, we enjoyed the food and place. This time, the place was a little changed, with some new roads paved nearer to the beach. Perfect for parking under shade. Road reflectors are usually available in colors yellow, white, red, green, blue, and black. It has three reflector options: an one sided reflector, a two sided reflector or no reflector installed at all. Its installation method can be done with self-adhesive butyl pads, epoxy kits and bituminous or thermoplastic adhesives. It is made of extra strength plastic and ceramic of 4″, 6″ and 8″ sizes of various shapes like square, rectangle, oval or circle. These road indicators are installed on the surface of the road to give guidance and convey information to pedestrians and drivers.

In recent years the two deceased and outgrown pine trees have been removed at the site, and the rock now sits there by itself, close to the road. It is amazing that it hasn’t been hit by an automobile or truck considering its proximity close to the roadway.

On the 4th of July, a woman, her mother and her 2 kids had a flat tire just down the road from Ash Grove. Our entrance was the safest spot around for her to stop. She came to the office and asked to use the phone to call someone. She told me, “I probably could change the tire, but I never have changed one before.” I said that before she called someone I would take a look at it. It was a Toyota minivan and I had never changed a tire on one of those, but I figured that looking inside the rear compartment would be a good place to start. While I did that, she looked for the owner’s manual.

The Great River Road is a collection of state, provincial, and local roads which follow the course of the Mississippi River through ten states of the United States. They are Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson 200 years ago, the 156-mile stretch across Indiana (Route U.S. 40, Washington St. in Indianapolis) was completed in 1834 with the completion of the Whitewater River and White River bridges. And through the rise of railroads, the invention of automobiles and the creation of Interstate 70, the National Road has remained a constant.
