There isn’t a doubt that eBay is overflowing with competition. Every day there are millions of dollars passing through that website into hundreds of accounts. If you follow these four tips, you will easily be successful and rule the competition on eBay.

1) Try to get excellent feedback.

When you first sign up with eBay, you will have no feedback what so ever. Most buyers will stay away from an eBay newbie with zero or very low feedback. Begin building your feedback rating by selling personal items from around the house that you no longer need. This is a good way to get the feel of using eBay and to build up positive feedback. You probably should save up for a good digital camera. Good clear pictures are an important selling application on eBay. Remember to describe your items completely and truthfully. Do not try to fool or mislead buyers in any way shape or form. You definatly can not afford to receive negative feedback this early in the game.

2) Do not lie about your auctions.

Do not ever lie in your auctions or try to make money with shipping costs. If you treat your customers the way you hope to be treated you can never go wrong. You will definatly be well on your way to generating a reputation as an honest future power seller.

3) Stay away from negative feedback.

If you happen to get a few bidders that don’t pay, just simply steer from the urge to leave negative feedback for them. Giving negative feedback will only result in a possible retaliation by the non paying bidder and give negitive feedback for you.

Remember that you don’t want any negative feedback at all right now. Buying items off of eBay is another great way to build up positive feedback. When you win an auction, pay for the item immediately. The end result will be positive feedback for you. Many buyers won’t care whether your feedback is a result of buying or selling ,just as long as it is positive.

4) Do some research before making wholesale purchases.

After you have gathered a sufficient feedback rating, you should be ready to begin buying wholesale merchandise to sell back on eBay. If you have your eye on a specific item you think might sell on eBay, first do a search of that item to find out what people are bidding. If it looks great then it is most likely a good deal for you. If it doesn’t appear to be getting many bids, you should more likely stay away from it.

Keep in mind that eBay is the largest auction site in the world. There are people who earn a living selling and buying items. They will fight the competition in order the stay dominant. After following these simple tips, you too will easily dominate the competition.

It’s true that Ebay is a massive virtual marketplace with millions of vendors from all around the world. With that kind of competition, it’s very important to go above and beyond the competition to get buyers to notice your listings. Fortunately, the steps you need to take, still crucial, are few in number. Anyone can implement these tips to draw more viewers to their Ebay auctions.

First, think like a buyer. Would you want to buy items sight unseen, or would you favor auctions with plenty of pictures? Do hurried or inadequate descriptions put you off? What if you found a listing from a seller with several negative feedback comments saying that the merchandise was sent out late, or as described? Circumstances are you would not want to purchase from such a seller. Neither will buyers feel comfortable buying from you if these things are true of your listings and reputation.

So, to get Ebay shoppers to open on your auctions, always involve quality photos of the item. Be sure to photograph any damaged spots as well. Use Ebay’s inexpensive photo hosting service, and always upload your pictures as 400 by 300 pixel jpegs of high quality. Ebay will resize the photographs to those indicated dimensions anyway; if you load the pictures at that size, you will lose minimal detail after uploading.

Listings have to be be simple to read. Highly disorganized listings can be distracting, and most buyers won’t want to spend time trying to decipher them when there are a multitude of other, more user-friendly listings accessible. To keep buyers looking, use a template or HTML to create the item description easier on the eyes. You don’t require a lot of fancy code to make your item description easy and readable. Ebay gives an inexpensive listing designer that you can use if you are not comfortable writing your own HTML tags.

While you’re evaluating the layout of your item description, also be sure that your listing is not filled with mistakes. If it’s hard to read, buyers will go elsewhere. A second thing to watch out for is the length of your item description. Buyers like to know details. If your listing has one short paragraph barely passing for an item description, you most likely have not given them all the details they desire. Go back and give more information about the item. If the product is damaged in any way, in addition to documenting the damage with a picture, you need to also repeat it in the text of your listing.

Offer a variety of payment choices, including PayPal. Buyers will often pass over auctions that require a check or money order as payment. PayPal allows buyers to use their PayPal account, bank account, or credit card to make a purchase. A lot of Ebay listings offer Paypal, so yours should, too.

On Ebay, sellers have to face against many other sellers offering the same goods. If one seller has well organized information and a great photograph of their item, they will allure the most views and bids. Do not throw buyers off with a hard-to-read listing. Employ these simple tips instead to make sure your auction gets known on Ebay.
