While both blenders are heavy, the Vitamix is heavier overall than the Blendtec. This includes what I consider the more important component-the pitcher. The Blendtec pitcher weighs just over 1lb. I think it came to around 1lb 1 oz when I weighed it. The Vitamix pitcher weighs just under 2lbs. If you have weak wrists or suffer from any level of arthritis then the Blendtec blender would be a smarter purchase simply because it’s pitcher is lighter.
