When touring the northeast coast of the US one particular of the top rated places to visit is the city of New York. The most renowned element of the city is situated on Manhattan Island in the Hudson River and is a hub of arts, culture, background and NY tourism.
Originally inhabited by the Lenape and Canarsee Indians, the island of Manhattan was purchased from them by Dutch settlers in 1626. Its excellent location along the Hudson produced New York City integral in the American Revolutionary War. Not only was it a hub of business and commerce but it was an excellent staging point for military maneuvers. Now the city on Manhattan Island is one particular of the most intriguing places to pay a visit to in the Northeast US.
If you are a museum lover you will get pleasure from walking along Museum Mile, where several renowned museums have their residence. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of the City of New York, The Jewish Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and numerous more world renowned museums are situated along the mile and make a fascinating visit.
