The offerings on the shelves for this weeks video game releases are a hack and slash, a first person shooter and a third person shooter; a little bit for every typer of gamer! They are dynasty warriors: Gundam 3, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
The second stage pack put the spotlight on Nemea, Sima Zhao, Kai, and Motonari Mori. While there were others focused upon- it wasn’t nearly to the same extent. I’d certainly call this the best of the DLC releases so far. The five included stages were very interesting and offered up a Samurai Warriors map not included in the original Warriors Orochi 3. The DLC weapons were also an improvement over last time. Be warned- if you hate Nemea, you’ll probably get much less out of this pack.

It’s always fun when you reach that point in a new game where you’ve had your fill of playing as your favorites and start exploring the cast even further. Upon placing legends like Zhou Yu and Deng Ai on the bench, I’ve spent a good amount of time with the rest of the cast in Warriors Orochi 3. In my efforts to unlock more costumes for my less favored characters, I’ve found some gems among the coal. At the other end of the spectrum, I’ve found some cases where I had my high hopes crumble.
What I hope will make this game really addicting are the different kinds of waves of enemies that will attack you. Things will start easy with the likes of swordsmen but once you reach wave3, things will spice up with frequent volley of arrows and the advent of things like exploding grenades, mounted warriors, war elephants, and even 20-feet trolls and the like. Also, as more and more waves come, more and more of your A.I. allies will die off, making the fight harder and harder. Whether your allies die or not depends on how well you position yourself and when, and so keeping your comrade and yourself alive will be very skill-based.
One serious complaint has certainly been cropping up a lot for both myself and the very vocal community for Warriors Orochi 3. While by and far the most damning fault for WO3 is the lack of an English dub- another common issue is how slow Koei has been to offer DLC. Warriors Orochi 3 has a massive library of stages, weapons, costumes, and more already released in Japan. Over here? So far we’ve got a couple of stage packs and one-shots of the assorted other content.
With everything from 4 vs 4 brawls, 12 vs 12 pvp battles, campaign modes designed for map ownership, and a 1 vs 1 arena, Dynasty Warriors Online promises to deliver everything you loved about Dynasty Warriors… and then some.
Dynasty Warriors 4, possibly one of the longest and re-playable games in video game history. It looks pretty much the same as the logo for Dynasty Warriors 6.
