Healing and Meditation

If you are suffering from physical soreness of some sort, the vision would be to direct your mental attention directly into the pain during meditation, not away from it. Be sure to penetrate the painful area along with your mind, in order to directly get a sense of exactly what is hurting and why. In this manner, what was recently felt like a dull cloud of uncomfortableness or a vaguely regional ache will arrive into much sharper focus in your mind’s kinesthetic eye; by focusing with this, you might be able to understand something that your physique have been telling you for days or weeks.

From a materialist point of view, precisely what is known as the ‘mind-body connection’ is undoubtedly an obvious fact: what we call ‘mind’ or consciousness is a function of one’s body and can’t possibly exist without the body, which is therefore linked to the body at the very greatest level. As the brain and also the nervous system are the source of awareness, and since the brain and the central nervous system are part of the body, the only question concerning the mind-body connection will be to what extent your brain can control and communicate with the body-the mind being in essence the intelligence and self-awareness of the body.

Aspects like body control and somatic curing are thus best understood from a materialistic viewpoint: the mind arises from the body and therefore body-mind usually are not actually separate entities at all, but merely different factors of the same single organism, which influence and affect each other on several different levels.
