As a father of two children I have always been a little concerned about my wife’s curling iron. If you don’t know most curling irons get to well over 200 degrees Fahrenheit, more than hot enough to burn the skin of a child who may touch the device on accident. As most people probably know toddlers love to touch just about anything. Normally we are pretty good about keeping Ryan away from anything dangerous. The Cool Care iron holder is a pretty simple device, but it is a great way to safe proof your bathroom and keeps your little ones safe. It is basically two vented stainless steel tubes mounted on a thin circular base. When you finish ironing your hair you simply put the hot end of the iron into the tube that it fits in and set the cord within the base.
Not only does it provide a place for your hot iron that will keep it up off the bathroom counter and out of reach of little ones, but it also helps contain the cord of the iron which is often the real danger.
The Cool Care comes with two different sized holders for both large and small flat irons and it really is a really well thought out product. The stainless steel holder is thin and well vented allowing irons to cool down quickly. It is well balanced and hard to knock over and since the irons are going to be sitting nearly vertical in the holder they take up less counter space as well.
If you would rather keep your iron off counters and table tops altogether there is a wall mounted version that is pretty easy to put in place. I opted for the mountable version to make sure my children were never at risk again. Putting it up was as simple as screwing in two mounting screws and it took around 10 minutes to have it set in place exactly where I wanted it. Of course it is always a good idea to make sure you are screwing into a stud.
While the concept behind the Cool Care iron holder is pretty simple it is very well done and one of the best options on the market today.
