Some people love your cold and wet weathers since it allows them to dress up. Yes – during this rainy, windy, snowy climatic conditions, people can bring in place their jackets, parkas, windbreakers, trench clothes and raincoats. Not to say the boots, the new number of bags, the scarves, this works!
It’s sometimes very tricky to wear raincoats and trench clothes. Should they match your general attire? In which case does it mean that you need to have a dozen trench coats and another dozen raincoats, just so you can have a fully complementing attire? Or are they independent of your other pieces of clothing? The answer will have to come from you, and it would be determined by how concerned you are with your overall getup.
If you’re attending a meeting in which the other attendees will discover you arrive, it might be a good idea to have at least a decent trench coat or raincoat to complement your attire. You may be sporting the sassiest company wardrobe, but if people wear a shabby cover, it might be just the thing other people will remember about you. After all, first impressions last, or possibly even longer they say. So, if you have your stark white shirt with its complementary cufflinks and coordinating tie, and your well-ironed dirt bike pants and shiny leather shoes, yet you arrive in your lunch meeting all soaked up in an old trench coat using its buttons barely hanging on, you might not create a good impression.
In contrast, it is imperative that you really wear some coat whether it is pouring down and you are meeting some people, especially for business. Arriving with just a big umbrella might give these the impression that you don’t know how to plan well for the weather, and they might erroneously relate this to your business acumen (or not enough it). Remember that in the flooring buisingess world, first impressions accomplish last. In fact, it is in the business world that this aged adage is most a fact. So make sure that you really leave your business colleagues through an impression that is impressive. You don’t want to remain remembered as that “fellow who was simply soaking wet”, right?
Inside corporate world, people really can be mean, and they will look for means and ways to fault you. Perhaps it’s the competitive, dog-eat-dog nature with the business, or perhaps it can be just man’s nature to somehow consentrate on the wrong, rather to the right. But whatever it may be, better not give them the opportunity to do so.
Accordingly, it is most smart to invest on a superior trench coat or weather coat. Only one good coat and you simply are set for life. You might have to spend a few hundred dollars for a good one, but it’s going to pay off. Just like a good watch, or a good pair of cufflinks, a good trench cover stands the test of your energy and is often complementary to numerous items on your clothing. A very wise expense, indeed!
