The younger generation is starting to question and compete with the older generation when it comes to book publication. They are starting to feel that young adults should be capable of writing works for their own age group since they would understand their lifestyle better.
Even though getting picked up by a traditional publishing company may take many years, self-publishing and then marketing for it properly I just as hard. Once a book has been self- published it is up to the author to decide how far the book will go, or if it will be remembered.
Born in Queens, NY and currently residing in Houston, TX, Jamal was inspired to write when he moved in the winter of 2007. When he completed his story he was 16 and for the next 2 years he focused on editing, and preparing the marketing material for his work. It is becoming common for young writers to publish their work at an early age. No longer are they limited to pen paper because of the internet, and services provided by companies such as Create Space and I Universe. It is now becoming easier for the younger generation to share their work with the world at a low cost effective manner.
With a few useful sites and books, anyone can learn the basics of how the book industry works. From creating a website to starting your first marketing campaign, as long as you keep at it and are dedicated to it, you can go far.
